Oh gosh, I loved making this Altered Pizza Box. It was for another swap over at A Little Scrap of Heaven. Each of us had to alter a minimum sized, 6″ by 6″ pizza box. A lot of the ladies used a template for this size and made their own out of heavy card stock or chip board.
I however, used a real pizza box. I used a blank, 8″ X 8″ pizza box that I sell over in my Etsy Store, ScrappinStuff4You. It was a little more challenging, as it has the tab, and the tabs inside. Also the box is one piece, and the lid does not come off, it flips open. You can see on the inside of the box, where I forgot to paper the tabs (Oooooops). Unfortunately I sent it out to my swap partner that way, before I noticed.
The Use of Flowers
Flowers really can make a project come to life. They add beauty, color, dimension, and just overall eye appeal. I used a variety of sizes, types, and colors of flowers on the Altered Pizza Box. You can see baby rose buds, gorgeous full bloomed roses, curled stems, and if you look closely you can see the Skeleton leaves. At the top of the box, I used Gardenias, green leaves, and a large pink Daisy underneath.
Using Embellishments on My Altered Pizza Box
See if you can pick out all of the embellishments (minus the flowers) that I used on this Altered Pizza Box, before I name them off. Go ahead, look at the picture and write them down.
Okay, I used: Assorted flat back pearls, a metal key covered in rhinestones, a stick pin in the lower flowers, three different charms that dangle off of the butterfly, (the butterfly is another one). There are emerald green, pink, and dark pink rhinestones (bling) placed on the butterfly, box tab, and on the butterfly tag. I also consider the tag an embellishment. Finally I used flat back pearl trim, and some glittered mesh that I rolled up for the butterfly to perch on. Did you get them all?
Be sure to check out all of the pictures below. I also made a YouTube Video on this Altered Pizza Box, along with some other projects that you might enjoy seeing. Thank you, and until next time……God bless.
